The results are in for our first Programming Contest. Gravity Works Design & Development sponsored "Rock, Paper, Scissors" at Second Gear Coworking to encourage people to meet, eat, and battle algorithms. Team Monday (Jack Benson and Max Maxant) won the event, and Team Jam (Amanda Myer, Marilyn Wulfekuhler, & Joseph Anger) placed second.

The first annual Gravity Works Programming Contest will be held December 17th, at Second Gear CoWorking. The challenge will be announced at the event; all ages, from high school students to professionals, are welcome to compete. Contestants will program a solution using the Microsoft .NET Framework (including C#, Visual Basic, F#, Iron Python, and Iron Ruby).

Today, Jeff McWherter assisted the Capital Area Michigan Works with Mock Interviews, which are regularly held for Michigan job seekers hoping to hone their interviewing skills and become more comfortable with the interview process. The interviews are open to anyone who would like to attend. Throughout the morning, Jeff met with four individuals who are currently unemployed, each with a very different occupational skill set.
