Christina Gorton

Front-End Developer

Christina has a passion for learning and improving her skills in front-end web development and design. She is a graduate from Eastern Florida State College, but is a self-taught coder. Christina used her love of crafting (sewing, crocheting, drawing) to learn CSS properties and other advanced coding. She likes to challenge herself by taking famous paintings and recreating them using CSS.

Christina is very active in the coding community; she is part of the Creative Coding Club, Chingu Cohort, and contributes content to Moms Can Code. Web development gives you the super power to create something out of nothing, and that’s what Christina likes best about her career. She enjoys taking client’s dreams and recreating them on the web.

Get to Know Christina

What inspires you?

My kids inspire my creativity and motivate me to continue learning and growing.

What's the strangest job you've ever had?

I worked in a rundown, dusty old costume shop at a flea market for a season. There was always something new or weid to find there.

Name a guilty pleasure?

Singing obnoxiously loud in the car.

What's the craziest thing you've done (work appropriate, like bungee jumping)?

My husband and I hitchhiked around the country for a month after we got married. It was definitely a learning experience. Not everyone we met was kind, but those who were I can’t soon forget.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Mountain Meadow. It just sounds nice.
