Steve Jencks loves visually solving problems, and he is particularly interested in the challenge of simplifying designs for mobile experiences. Steve received a degree in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Michigan State University, and he has 15 years of design experience. Today, Steve believes that meeting user goals with intuitive interfaces is the basis of visually-attractive websites. His favorite clients have a passion for what they do, lending to an excitement during collaboration; at Gravity Works, Steve has a lot of favorite clients.

What was the height of your week?

About 6 1" when I'm wearing shoes.


What's your favorite restaurant for team lunches?

The Brody Complex. It reminds me of when I was a college freshman and had a ton of money unlike now when I'm a parent.


Name a hidden talent, or one unknown fact about you.

I can breakdance. I have 3 moves and was called ElectroMagic when I took dancing lessons in 5th grade. I really wish I was making that up.


What's the craziest thing you've recently done?

Woke my wife up accidentally after she had a tough night of derby practice and she took a swing at me in her sleep. But I dodged it and still got the points.

  • Recognized with various ADDY Awards, including a Gold ADDY for the MSU CAS holiday microsite (2012) as well as a Gold ADDY and Judges' Choice for a Lansing Derby Vixens poster (2012).

  • Spoke at Ignite Lansing in 2009, and awarded "division winner" for talk.

  • Published in Lunchmeat VHS magazine, Mad Scientist magazine, and the LogoLounge series.
